Phyllis Perkins, aka Just A Philly Girl, is a 40-something, married mom of three, who, twelve years ago, transplanted herself from the hustle and bustle of city life in Philadelphia, to the calm and enveloping suburbs in southeastern Michigan.
She got her start in the wonderful world of writing, believe it or not, while working for the real estate division of a large religious organization learning the intricacies of the English language when drafting leasing and sales documents. This position kept her on her toes, keeping her mindful of keeping her “i”s dotted and her “t”s crossed! It taught her great respect for the written word.
While this position gave her satisfaction, it could NOT compare with the joy, happiness and satisfaction of being a Mom. She has the pleasure of saying that she’s not your ordinary, everyday, run-of-the-mill Mom. She’s got three wonderful children. Two that walk and one that soars in the beauty of the Angels above us.
Phyllis has survived giving up her life in Philly, she’s survived being so far from her family. And one of her greatest accomplishments in life has been the survival of the death of her baby girl. What keeps her going after all of that turmoil? Her remaining lights in her life, her husband, the Big E and their two gorgeous little boys, Buddy (age 6 1/2) and the Tinklemeister (age 4 1/2), her kitty, Bailey Briscoe, and last but not least our dog Princess Daisy Mae.
Life, thus far, has been an AMAZING journey, none of which she would have traded for the world. Phyllis looks forward to many more roller coaster rides through life. And that is the reason for her writing!
So pull up a chair, sit back, set a spell, have a cup of tea or a glass of wine and enjoy your visit with Just A Philly Girl!
